Heart Eyes Mask

These pieces were somewhat an organisational challenge, since the client's budget wasn't as high as I would expect for two custom masks, but that just made the project more fun. With almost no brief to go from, I had to just sketch out as many ideas as possible (hence the variety in styles) then hope that the client liked one or two of them.

Thankfully, they liked the simplest of the designs, which made the entire process much more friendly to the budget and my time. The masks were simply plastic (labelled decoupage masks by a very suspect retailer) theatre masks that I drilled the shapes into then cut out (because cutting plastic is the worst). The horns were EVA foam (chosen for its relative cheapness and ease of sculpting) glued on, then epoxy putty sculpted around the base to ease the transition between the two. While the studs and stitches were not originally on the design, they were added last minute because they felt right and the client loved them.
